Regarding this condition, the Secretary of the Wiringpalennae Village, Patimah gave a clarification as quoted from newsSulsel. He revealed that his party refused to provide a cover letter for the child’s marriage.
“The village government used to refuse when it came to ask for an introduction,” said Patimah, quoted from newsSulsel, Monday (23/5/22).
He admitted that his party refused because the bride and groom are minors. It has also disseminated the rules for child marriage.
“Because he is still 15 years old, because we used to participate in the socialization and the rules are that minors cannot be given an introduction,” he continued.
However, even though they did not receive a cover letter from the local government, the wedding of a boy named Muh Ferdi (15) and Nikma Sari Saskia (16) was still held.
“We refused to give an introduction, he went straight to KUA. Our KUA phone call later here was rejected,” said Patimah.

The wedding itself took place in Pallae, Wiringpalannae Village, Tempe District, Wajo Regency on Sunday (22/5/22) yesterday. The two brides are known as Muh Ferdi (15) Nikma Sari Saskia (16).
Quoting from detikSulsel, Nikma’s family, namely Muhammad Aris Ali, said that both of them were still in junior high school. Nikma is still in the 3rd grade of junior high school while the groom Ferdi is in the 2nd grade of junior high school.
“The two are matched and are one village,” said Aris to detikSulsel, Monday (23/5).
Aris has not further disclosed the matter until the two brides who are still minors are arranged for an arranged marriage. But he said the two still have a family relationship.
